DUST AND ODOUR EXTRACTION AND FILTRATION SYSTEM FOR RECYCLING PLANTS
Icam designs and builds custom extraction and filtration systems to remove dusts and odours created during the various stages of solid and liquid waste processing in the recycling and disposal sectors. Icam provides its clients with high-quality systems that are designed and built with attention to detail.
Specifically:
• The size of the exhaust hood is carefully calculated according to ACGIH guidelines, maximizing the pollutant capture velocity with respect to the exhaust flow rate. This allows internationally-recognized worker safety standards to be met while limiting make-up air and energy waste.
• The construction of the extraction systems also follows best technology guidelines. Hose filters and cartridge filters (including for ATEX applications involving the filtration of potentially explosive dusts), wet scrubber systems for extracting dusts, odours and soluble volatile compounds, and activated carbon filters to adsorb volatile organic compounds are all widely used in the waste sector. In addition, Icam offers an extraction system for VOCs at low concentrations (<1g/Nm3) in air streams with medium-high flow rates (from 20,000 to 100,000 m3/h).
• Particular attention is paid to calculating the appropriate size of systems that will be used to extract and remove potentially explosive dusts. The filters have explosion-pressure-resistant structures and feature certified relief systems and compartmentalization.
The following products have applications in the waste treatment sector:
With respect to dusts, we have designed systems to extract and filter pollutants produced from storing, handling, grinding, sifting, and pressing materials, as well as from mallet mills.
With respect to volatile compounds, we have successfully treated fumes produced from storing, handling, mixing and pouring materials, as well as fumes from reactor vents, basins, tanks, agitators, etc.
